In Episode 8 of Undisclosed, we discussed why it was very unlikely that any phone calls could have been made or received from the Leakin Park burial site, due to a hill that blocked line of sight with cellsite L689 (which we've been referring to as the "Leakin Park tower").
One of our listeners, a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist with Stone Environmental, Inc., made a topographic profile to illustrate this problem. Because the burial site is directly at the base of the steep hill on which L689 is located, no line-of-sight existed between the burial site and the tower, making cell coverage at that location unlikely. Jay testified, however, that Adnan received two phone calls while they were at the burial site. Despite this, we know from AT&T's records that there were no dropped calls or other recorded indications that Adnan's phone was having difficulties in making or placing calls from 7pm to 8pm on January 13, 1999, when the phone was (at least according to Jay) in Leakin Park.
